Position: Project Analyst
Position Overview
Millennium Research Group (MRG) is a dynamic and energetic market research firm. Focused on the medical device, healthcare and biotechnology sectors, MRG provides its clients with actionable information through published reports and customized consulting services. A Project Analyst position is now open in our Research Services Division, which collects and reports data on medical device markets on an ongoing or ad hoc basis. Project analysts work closely with our data collection team and other internal departments to ensure the highest data quality standards are met and that projects are progressing smoothly. Project analysts play a vital project management function in addition to driving overall project improvements.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities of a Project Analyst include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting Senior Project Analysts by performing regular and ad hoc analyses in a timely and rigorous fashion as needed
- Maintaining an understanding of important trends and data points in multiple projects, ultimately leading to project ownership and management
- Researching and understanding medical device markets in order to define project specifications and ensure data accuracy
- Designing surveys and supporting research team during data collection periods
- Reviewing data quality and reporting on data trends
- Designing and implementing project improvement initiatives
- Supporting internal departments in creating custom deliverables and analyses
Qualifications
- Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills
- Creative and critical problem solving skills
- Advanced analytical skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint and knowledge of relational databases is required
- Experience with MS Access and/or SQL, statistical software such as SPSS, SAS, Minitab, etc. is an asset
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for quantitative and qualitative anomalies
- Understanding of research methods and statistics is preferred
- Excellent research skills demonstrated through the ability to learn new information in a quick and thorough manner
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to communicate complex quantitative ideas to internal and external clients at all levels of seniority
- Demonstrated success in working effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to multitask and prioritize items effectively
- Must be able to tackle a variety of incoming tasks ranging in timelines from short-term (a few hours) to long-term (several weeks/months)
- Proven project management experience an asset but not mandatory
- Undergraduate degree with a proven record of academic success in any discipline, although solid technical and quantitative courses and/or experience is preferred
