Millennium Research Group (MRG) is currently looking for a SQL Server DBA/Developer to join our IT team.

Database Design and Development:

Design, document and develop physical database environments. This also includes providing a fitting conceptual and logical data model prior to physical implementation.
Create ETL packages and work with analysts to identify, design and implement solutions for mining and integration of data to and from databases for the purposes of reporting, decision backing and analysis.
Analyze and conform to business and technical requirements.
Identify and apply appropriate indexes based on query / application requirements.

Database Administration:

Manage, monitor and administer database and system performance; including optimization, upgrades, backups, rollouts, and tuning of data loads, extractions and recommending appropriate procedure, query or package changes and optimizations to ensure and improve system performance and reliability.
Manage job and activity schedules to promote optimal performance, maximum availability and minimize data latency and data load durations.
Design and document data security and asset protection techniques that meet business requirements.
Proactively evaluate hardware requirements for development, production and testing environments and ensure associated hardware meets defined benchmarks.

2-3+ years of data warehousing, data mart, and business intelligence experience.
2-3+ years of experience with data interrogation, data profiling, and data modeling
Highly proficient in database benchmarking (sizing, capacity planning, testing/stressing, DTS/SSIS, recovery, etc.) in a medium to large-scale environment.
Strong T-SQL programming skills and the ability to write scripts to perform business operations
Performance tuning/MS SQL development skills - SQL Profiler, Performance Monitor and execution plan assessment, SQL scripts, stored procedures, triggers, functions and transactions analysis, thorough understanding of indices and statistics (Query Optimizer) for small and large-Scale databases
Primary Operating Environments: High-level knowledge of server operating systems (mainly windows 2003 and 2008. Linux a plus).
Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering
Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on database projects.
Practical experience in managing the internal and external MS SQL database security.
Experience creating Reporting Services reports.
